In 2024, in line with the Internationalization vision of the Higher Education Council (YÖK), an internationalisation mission focused  primarily on South American Countries. Thus, 36 bilateral cooperation protocols were signed in 2024 with countries in 4 different continents, 8 of which were countries in the South American continent (Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile). 12 of these protocols were signed between our university and Uzbekistan Universities that participated in the Turkish-Uzbek Rectors Forum, hosted by Istanbul Technical University in October 2024.
 
In 2024, Fırat University became more visible in the following continents and signed bilateral cooperation protocols with different universities:

Asia (China, Japan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, India, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus)
