French President Emmanuel Macron’s initiative « Make Our Planet Great Again » aims at gathering high-profile international researchers and students and supports them financially to conduct innovative environmental-friendly scientific projects in France. For the year under way, this will be carried out in the form of four different grants entirely dedicated to non-French nationals: this is therefore a unique opportunity for students, universities and researchers from Turkey to push further in the field of environmental sciences.
In all, more than 125 international applicants will be awarded.
The application period starts on March, 12th 2018 until April, 6th 2018.
Three broad research themes are prioritized in 2018’s calls: earth systems, climate change and sustainability, and the energy transition. A complete list of eligible themes can be found at https://www.campusfrance.org/en/priority-research-topics.
This call is designed for International students who want to attempt an environmental-oriented master degree in France. They may apply for support for one or two years of study toward a master’s degree by including in their application a letter of admission to a master’s program (first or second year) at a French institution of higher education.
Foreign researchers holding a doctoral degree are encouraged to respond to this call for proposals. Candidates must include with their application a letter from a French host institution agreeing to co-finance the candidate’s research. Institutions hosting the selected researchers will receive co-financing in the amount of €2,083 per month to support the candidates’ research over a period of 12 to 24 months.

Foreign research scientists are encouraged to respond to this call for proposals. Please bear in mind that candidates must also supply an invitation letter from a host institution in France. Successful candidates will receive mobility support in the amount of €65 per day for doctoral candidates and €120 per day for research scientists already holding a doctorate. Round-trip airfare and medical insurance are also provided. The maximum mobility period is five months.
In its first phase, this call will only be open to French institutions of higher education and research. The selected institutions will receive a co-financing subsidy of €50,000, payable over three years, to recruit and support a doctoral candidate under a work contract. Foreign doctoral candidates will then have the opportunity to apply and get evaluated by the awarded institutions. The student application period opens on June, 4th 2018.
